Merry Sithmas - Darth Sidious

Here's the second in the "Merry Sithmas" series, featuring Darth Sidious.  I had just enough time to include the animated version with this post.  :-)

* * *

STEP ONE:  Here are the digital pencils, done on a canvas 900px x 1260px.

* * *

STEP TWO:  Here are the digital inks, done mostly with a 5px brush.

* * *

STEP THREE:  I created a MULTIPLY Layer to begin colorizing the drawing, and then added the lettering.  I also used the animated tab to create the animated .gif, above.

Done digitally with Photoshop.

  1. Hey John! Long time, huh?

    I thought Merry Sithmas was nifty original wit, too. Maybe neither of us is the Star Wars geek two 80s nerds should be, huh? I'm kind of ashamed to admit that. Especially this week.

    So for the past bunch of years now I would occasionally google your name, just wondering what you were up to. Once I found an article about a library in Minnesota that ran a comic contest and a John Douglas won it ... but that was just an article about the library. Finally, this year, I found your online presence. And I gotta' say, these art sites trump that winning comic.

    These are cool, man!

    1. Yo Jack! :-)

      Thanks for the kind words--FLATTERY! (But, I'll take it, of course.)

      I saw you follow my humble Blog the other day. Send me an e-mail at the address in the header above so we can catch up a bit!

      Looking forward to hearing from you!
